                                                                                        Philosophy

Health is state of well being that enables a person to lead a psychologically, socially and economically productive life. Health is right of all the people. Individuals, families and communities have a responsibility towards maintaining their health.

Nursing contributes to the health services in vital and significant way in the health care delivery system.

  • We believe that basic course of modern nursing as dynamic, education process in meeting complete the health goals & therapeutic need of the individual family, community & nation.
  • We believe that nursing is one of many health profession while function is conjunction with other heath care agencies to achieve and maintain desirable standards of health.
  • We are recognize the nursing professional is influenced by advance in science & technology and that practice of nursing requires a good understanding of basic scientific principal.
  • We recognize nursing as a practicing professional independent on allied professional and occupation for promoting & restoring health.

Aims

The aim of undergraduate nursing programme is to:

  • Prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as professional, component nurses and midwives in providing promotive, currative rehabilitative services.
  • Prepare nurse who can make independent decisions in nursing situations, protect the rights of and facilitate individuals and groups in pursuit of health, function in the hospital, community nursing services, and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor, and manager in a clinical/ public health setting.

Objectives

  • Apply knowledge from physical, biological and behavioral science, medicine including alternatives system and nursing care to the individual, families, and communities.
  • Demonstrate understanding of life style on other factor which affect health of individual & group.
  • Provide nursing care based on steps of nursing process in collaboration with the individuals and groups.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skill in making decisions in all situations in order to provide quality care.
  • Utilize the latest trends and technology in providing health care.
  • Provide promotive, preventive and restorative health services in line with the national health policies and programmes.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals and groups, and members of the health team in order to promote effective interpersonal relationships and teamwork.
  • Demonstrate skill in teaching to individual & group in clinical / community health nursing.
  • Participate effectively as members of the health team in health care delivery system.
  • Demonstrate leadership and managerial skills in clinical/community health settings.
  • Practice within the framework of code of  ethics & professional conduct & acceptable standard  of practice within the legal boundaries.
  • Demonstrate awareness, interest & contribute toward advancement of self & of profession.
